From the moment I first picked up a baton in 1994 I loved it, after three years I had worked my way to an Advanced Twirler and seven years after that Championship. I became Trainer of the Chelmsford Crystals in 2000 and Troupe Leader in 2007. In recent years I became a Judge.
Baton twirling gives you a sense of freedom to create something that makes you feel good, a sense of achievement.
My troupe are my second family, it’s a place where we can all be ourselves, we work, laugh, play and cry together.
My majorette journey began at 6 yrs old and I fell in love then. In 2010 I joined forces with a friend and we ran a troupe together before I started Infinity Twirlers in 2019. I have loved my majorette years and enjoy helping my majorettes develop and grow and I have made some amazing friends over the years.
I am so looking forward to the adventures that await with MTU and I am honoured to be part of the Leader Advisor team!
I started my twirling career at Shoeburyettes Majorettes when I was 8, because I was really shy . It was amazing, it helped to build my confidence and I have made life long friends.
The troupe leader left , so my mum Chris and I took over and eventually became The Southend Sapphires. We closed the troupe 15 years ago due to work commitments, but I continued to support my daughters and granddaughters in their twirling careers.
I am now one of the troupe leaders for The Sapphire Twirlers.
Twirling is in my blood and I love it now as much as I did 43 years ago.
Back in 1984 I spotted some Majorettes in the local carnival. I begged my Mum to let me join. She took me to my first session and I have been obsessed ever since! I was part of the Felixstowe Debenaires for many years, sadly they closed their door and I became a trainer for the Ipswich Rebelettes. I have so many great childhood memories and made so many life long friends. In 2000 my sister and I started Ice Illusions, building our team up from nothing was at times very difficult and we have worked so hard. We are so proud of all that we have achieved. We have won Overall Troupe within the UKFM, SAM and BATON associations. We were Finalists at 'Ipswich has got talent' and even had 14 girls qualify for the BMSA England team in 2020. Luckily my daughter has followed in my footsteps and we enjoy twirling together. In the past 23 years we have had many girls come and go and come back again!! I am so proud of my team, all of my trainers and my sister who does all of the work behind the scenes, they are all so dedicated and deserve much recognition. Looking forward to seeing where our MTU journey takes us!
My love for Twirling started back in 1990 when I was just 8 years old. In 2003 I co-founded Blue Vision Twirling Team and have been the senior trainer since we started, eventually taking over as joint Troupe Leader in 2018. 20 years later we are still going from strength to strength but also still learning lots along the way! I have been lucky enough to appear in adverts on ITV, be crowned as Miss UKFM and was also recognised as a local hero in Huntingdon for the commitment to our twirling team which was rewarded with my face stuck on the biggest billboard outside the local train station!
Twirling has always been my passion but the greatest reward will always be watching my members achieve their twirling dreams....I hope this continues for many years to come!
I am the Troupe Leader for Revelation Majorettes in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
I first got involved with a majorette troupe when my daughters were 3 and 4 years old. We saw a local troupe performing at a carnival and both of my daughters wanted to try and 26 years later I am still involved. Sewing, making equipment, mending equipment.
Pastoral care for the troupe members is very important making sure that I am there if they need me.
I opened my own troupe 15 years ago but before then I had become a UKFM qualified judge and was regularly attending competitions.
I pride myself in working with the boys and girls in my team. We are like a family and we are always happy to help anyone who needs advice with their troupe or just a shoulder to lean on.
I am delighted to be part of the MTU and to have been asked to help others, I am looking forward to the new journey.
